MEET OUR TEAM

      Dr. Alejandro Aguirre earned a Diploma in Veterinary Medicine in 1987 and an Animal Physiology and Advanced Management of Reproduction Specialization in 1989, both from Zulia State University in Venezuela.


Dr. Aguirre practiced Large and Small Animal Reproduction in his private practice in his country for 18 years where he also did research work in the Theriogenology area and participated in the teaching and training programs for Animal Reproduction and Professional Applications at Zulia State University.


Dr. Aguirre became fully licensed to practice Veterinary Medicine in the state of Texas in May 2015, and since then has been practicing Veterinary Medicine in Small and Large Animals.


His professional affiliations include membership in the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, International Embryo Transfer Association and Society for Theriogenology where he is currently enrolled in the process to get Board Certified by the American College of Theriogenology.


Dr. Aguirre is married to former Judge Cindy M. Aguirre. They have three children, Alejandro, Isabela and Jesus. Horse back riding and reading are the preferred activities of Dr. Aguirre.


Dr. Aguirre and his family have a rescued dog named "Perrito" and two rescued horses:
"Spirit" and "Sunny"

Joan-  

Lead technician

        Joan has been working in the veterinary field for over 15 years. She is the lead technician at FBAH, and as such, she assists Dr. A. in exam rooms, surgeries, anesthesia, radiography, dentistry and critical care.


Joan strives to give each pet the best patient care and trains our staff to do so as well. Joan successfully led the endeavor for AAHA accreditation at FBAH, which was a remarkable accomplishment for
our team.


At home Joan has a cat that she rescued and named Dinah.

Her favorite thing about working at FBAH is educating our clients about how to give their pets the best care.

Alejandra-

Office manager

     Alejandra is originally from Venezuela where she graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Alejandra subsequently obtained a specialization in advanced business management.


Her role at FBAH is office manager. Alejandra makes sure our team has the necessary tools to execute daily tasks, and she provides guidance and administrative support to ensure the best service and customer care for our clients and patients is achieved.


In her spare time, Alejandra enjoys reading.  What she loves most about FBAH is the family atmosphere and that everyone who is part of this team genuinely cares about FBAH and the services we provide.
 

Andrea-

Receptionist 

     Andrea’s official role at FBAH is receptionist. Andrea's priority is ensuring the schedule runs smoothly, allowing each pet to have enough time with Dr. A.


Andrea is a senior at the University of Houston, getting a BBA in Finance with a concentration in Global Energy Management.


Her hobbies are working out, learning about veterinary medicine and watching Formula 1.


Her favorite part about FBAH is learning from Dr. A. and helping all the animals that visit the clinic.

Sarah-

Veterinary Assistant

 

        As a veterinary assistant, Sarah assists Dr. A and our lead technician in exam rooms, treatments and surgeries.


Sarah is currently studying to become a veterinarian.


She has three dogs and a cat with which she loves spending her free time.


Her favorite part about working at FBAH is having the opportunity to learn from our team how to provide the best care for our patients and educating you as the owner how to do so as well.
 

 Maria Alejandra-

Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist

        Maria Alejandra is a veterinary assistant and receptionist at FBAH.

Maria Alejandra has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and a Minor in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Tyler. She will be attending St. George's University in Grenada for Veterinary School.

 

In her free time, Maria Alejandra rides dressage, hikes, and spend time with her fur babies, her dog Dexter, and her cat Oliver.


Maria Alejandra's favorite part about FBAH is that we are like a family and have an excellent team that is dedicated and passionate about all animals, large and small.
